'CLAP' stands for: Cleft, Lip, Alveolus & Palate. 'Hare lip' is the visible part. However the bones that hold the teeth (alveolus) and the 'wall' that separates the mouth from the nose (palate), may also be involved. There may also be asymmetries of the nose.
